The bottom line is no one knows how it really all started.  Raymond did play a role though.  You need to understand that niggas in the street beef hard, and they carry that beef.  Dude on that documentary probably grew up in a different area and has a different view or beefed with dude and it was never squashed.  Lot of jealousy over that banging shit.

Raymond started the E/S Crips and Tookie's crew was the W/S Crips.  E/S Crips basically joined up with the Avalons, Main Streets, etc. and as it grew they became the 88 Avalon Garden Crips (as well as the 40's, 53's, etc), Main Street Crips and I believe the actual East Side Crips became East Coast.

I aint ever heard of 24 Garden Blocc.  You outside of LA?

The Compton Crips grew too and became a whole slew of sets.  Lot of CC's abide by a different code of banging, same goes for the Pirus, although niggas like Kelly Park reppin' that NHC now so LA banging does play a big part in it even though most hub niggas wont admit it. 

Don't really matter who started it, all that matters is it grew into a monster and shit is starting to heat back up to the pre-truce days.  Bodies dropping left and right and new wars starting every day.
