Where do y'all find the figures for Dangerous ?
I thought it sold 1.2 million, wich was a record at that time.

And didnt History sell more then 3.5 in the US ?

Yeah,I Just Noticed He Outsold Dangerous, One Of His Greatest Albums That Went On To Sell 7 Million Copies.

That's not necessarily fair though because record sales in general have increased a lot since that album was released.

My point was that Dangerous started off slow, and eventually sold 7 million.  This album looks like it had worse sales, but actually it beat dangerous's start, so maybe it eventually will sell more than 7 million domestic.  I don't get your point, he should expect to sale more than 7 million?

Anyways, That's what Billboard.com said, 300,000 for Dangerous first week sales.  History sold 7 million in the U.S., but it was a double album, meaning it actually only sold 3.5 million units (And that first week sales were actually only 175,000 or so?).

Since you struggled to see my point for some reason--I'll put it to you in easier terms.  All Im saying is that it is not fair to compare 1st week sales for an album put out 10 years ago compared to an album in todays standards because more people are buying albums on the first week.   Im not saying "Invincible" is going to bomb, but the fact that it outsold "Dangerous" in it's first week is nothing to get all sticky about.

What did y'all expect? For MJ to go quadruple platinum in the first week? Its only been the first week, its not like he has one week to sell 'Invincible' or somethin'. Give the man a break for Christ sake. How do y'all know Mikes next couple of singles won't blow up and make his album sell even more? It's like some of y'all have been depending on Miss Cleo way too often.

And even if his album flops, who cares? What more does he need to prove? He is already one of the most famous and most successful artists ever. He even said in the new TV Guide that he wasn't looking for a major comeback.

Im not hating on Michael Jackson the musician (i wont get into the person).  And yes-the album still has potential to be HUUUGE.  But so far, it's had a luke-warm single and has been met with luke-warm approval.  I've heard the album and think its quite good and if you sells well-great.  But its not exactly off to a hot start no matter how you twist the numbers.

Agreed. I could care less about sales since I enjoy the album so its all good for me.

And how could you hate Micheal Jackson, the person, when you haven't even met him? Thats interesting.

You realize 99% of the country dislikes Michael the person, right?  Seriously-I can't support somebody that is just going to use my money to add on to his theme park so he can lure in more young children.  Seriously folks-Jacko is a child molestor.  I dont want to make this a back and forth posting thing...So if you disagree with this statement--Fine--but I was brought up that child molestors are immoral.  And please-don't even act like hes innocent.

And for what its worth--the album is hot.

You got any evidence to back that bold statement up or are you just relying on tabloids and other sources that are more "entertainment" then actual fact?

You're right.  Why would Michael Jackson be a child molester?  It's not like he has a theme park for children.  It's not like he's notorious for inviting young boys over to his place to spend the night.  It's not like he hasn't been accused by young boys of molestation.  In fact-didn't one boy even know about a certain birthmark on his body?  There is no way he DOESNT have gay/molesting tendencies.  This is the last Im going to say on the situation though as it has very little to do with music.

Its funny how out of all the boys he invited to his home only one had a complaint huh? Really odd.
