street and commercial-simple thought
« on: December 25, 2006, 12:33:32 PM »
I read alot  since I've been back into hiphop, cats saying sales are at an all time low. Maybe you guys have already had this discussion but I haven't seen it quite phrased like I'm about to, so I so no reason to not:

Rap that is made with the singles/machine shit in mind is not going to always sell units. because the teeny bops and the people that just want the club bangers and pop singles are just gonna download the single and not support the artists. The people like us, that buy albums aren't buying because we want a whole quality album and won't buy it unless that's what it is...so we're not buying much.

by this logic: the machine will have to collapse on itself and rap will be once again made realizing that it has to be a good album to be purchased....
In other words, commercial rap shouldn't even be selling because pop people just download the singles and good rap should be selling because only people that are really into music buy shit anyway.....why is it not working out like this?

For e every hip hop head there are wiggers, wanna be gangsters and wanna be hip hop heads buying whack shit like jay and 50, i can't think of any other reason the previously stated logic isn't going into effect. so the teeny boppers are way less of a threat than whack hip hop heads.

eh, just a thought.
