RESULTS: Best Albums of All-Time...
« on: November 02, 2001, 02:16:36 AM »
Well it's friday... and no one's voted for a couple days so I figured I might as well tally up the results....

only 35 of y'all punks voted... so how accurate is this gonna be? ah well.

The format is Artist - Album - Total Points (first place votes)

1. Dr Dre - The Chronic - 255 (9)
2. Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle - 233 (7)
3. 2pac - All Eyez On Me - 157 (6)
4. Nas - Illmatic - 89 (0)
5. NWA - Straight Outta Compton - 78 (1)
6. Dr Dre - Chronic 2001 - 72 (1)
7. Dogg Pound - Dogg Food - 65 (1)
8. Warren G - Regulate: G Funk Era - 62 (0)
9. Tupac - Me Against The World - 61 (1)
10. Makaveli - The Seven Day Theory - 58 (0)

the next 10....

11. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The 36 Chambers - 53 (0)
12. Bone Thugs N Harmony - E. 1999 Eternal - 50 (3)
13. Ice Cube - Amerikkkas Most Wanted - 36 (0)
14. Outkast - Aquemini - 35 (0)
15. Ras Kass - Soul On Ice - 24 (0)
16. Gza - Liquid Swords - 22 (0)
17. Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions... - 21 (0)
18. Biggie - Life After Death - 20 (0)
19. D.O.C. - No One Can Do It Better - 19 (0)
20. Raekwon - Only Built For Cuban Linx - 18 (0)

Random facts about the voting....

Doggystyle was on the most lists... making 32/35

30 people had The Chronic on their list and only twice was it lower than 4th spot.

In total 97 different albums got at least one vote.

Albums that got a first place vote but failed to make the top 20: Roots - Illadelph Halflife, Ice Cube - Predator, BDP - Criminal Minded, Eminem - Slim Shady LP, Onyx - All We Got Iz Us & Eazy-E - Eazy Duz It.

All 4 Outkast albums and all 5 Dj Quik albums got at least 1 vote.
4 Ice Cube albums got votes. (Amerikkkas, Lethal Injection, Death Certificate & Predator)

Artists who missed the cut:
Dj Quik - had 5 albums get votes - Rhythmalism (9), Way 2 Fonky (3), Safe + Sound (7), Balance & Options (4), Quik Is The Name (2).

Jay-Z - had 3 albums get votes - Reasonable Doubt (10), Dynasty (1), Blueprint (14).

Eminem - had 2 albums get votes - Slim Shady (15), Marshall Mathers (13)

Rakim - had 2 albums get votes - Paid In Full (12), The 18th Letter (12)

Well... that's it... let me know what y'all thought of this and whether I should do the same thing with other topics (producer, song, rapper, group)...

peace.

Thats dope, thanks for taking the time to do all the results.

I think those would be pretty consistent with all west coast hip hop fans. The only surprise for me is that Illmatic was so high.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.
