Yea, Jake, what's this you're going on about now? Shaq didn't wanna take a pay-cut or get in shape for the Lakers like he did for the Heat...And he definitely didn't wanna defer to Kobe like he did for Wade...PeACe

When someone take a team from the bottom to the top pretty much by themselves, they don't deserve a pay cut. Shaq is going to make any team he plays for a contender, and his salary should reflect that.

Shaq didn't deserve a pay-cut? He deserved $30 mill a year through 2010 to be an out-of-shape, unconditioned player instead of $20 mill?

In 04-05 when he was traded, the Heat went 59-23, making them a contender in the Eastern Conference. Out of shape or not, Shaq was the sole reason it happened, and he should be paid accordingly. Just look at Miami since he's been hurt. They aren't even a .500 team.

Yeah look at Miami now...playing without him (like always).

But when he was traded to the Heat he recommited himself over the summer and got back in shape. When he was with the Lakers he was showing up to training camp out of shape ever year. If Shaq asked for the kind of money he got when he resigned with the Heat, the Lakers would have resigned him, instead he asked for $30 million a year.

So what? He could have stayed with an all-star caliber team, took a pay cut and won a championship. Instead, he went to a mediocre team, and ascended them to a championship team without all of the Laker's talent. He earned his status and shouldn't have to take a pay cut just because the Lakers wanted him to. He can obviously win elsewhere, even without the talent the Lakers have.

Everything you are saying is something a piece of shit Shaq dickrider/Kobe hater would say. Didn't you say you hate Kobe & The Lakers with a Passion?

Anyways...you're all over the place..You're not making any fucking sense....

What all-stars are you talking about?....

Do you know why Dr.Buss wanted shaq to take a pay-cut? Kobe was a Free Agent, He wanted shaq to take a pay-cut so he could keep both players. Dr.Buss couldn't afford to give shaq and Kobe BIG Contracts. Kobe sacrifice his game and numbers for shaq all those years why couldn't shaq do the Same? Couse shaq is a bitch. He couldn't handle the fact the he was fallin off and the Lakers wanted to start thinking about the future, WTF is wrong with that? Shaq went all crazy and was saying shit like "im not going to take a back seat to anyone"  ...& "Im not KG, im not going to take a pay-cut"...Shaq also yelled at Dr,Buss during a pre-season game (After a dunk shaq turned to Dr.buss and yelled "you gonna pay me now muthafucka") And Dr.Buss was still nice enough to affore him a contract extension. It wasn't what shaq wanted , he wanted a 3 years 90 mill contract extention to go with his 2year 46 mill left on his OG Contract. Shaq put Dr.buss in position where he had to chose between Shaq or Kobe. Dr.Buss didn't feel comfortable giving shaq all that money b/c shaq always came to camp out of shape, miss a bunch of games b/c of injuries, he was fallen off (as proving the last 2 years putting up career low numbers in regular season and playoffs) The year before Shaq told the media "Im going to have my surjurie during company time"    ..Shaq was the sole reason why we didn't win our 4th staright championship.....and a year later he has the nerve to yell at Dr.Buss to give him a contract extension?  :o

And who was going to be that other superstar to play with Shaq? there wasn't going to be no Kobe, or D.Wade or anyone to play with shaq in L.A. and you're going to give all that money to shaq when he's not even in his prime putting up big numbers?

By keeping kobe you get a player who's 26 years old to build around, in his prime and could put up big numbers....and you were going to get him for cheaper.

This trade wan't about the heat...it was about the Lakers and their future. and the future is looking real good right now  8) 8) 8)

You are very correct. I hate the Lakers and Kobe. BUT that doesn't mean I think they aren't talented. As far as I'm concerned, the improvements he has made since he has been with Miami proves he deserves a big contract. There is obviously something all of us missed between Shaq and the Lakers which had Shaq showing up every year out of shape. I doubt it was money. Now that he is with another team, he is getting paid and he is getting in shape. Basically, it worked out for everyone, so why is everyone still whining about it?

Well he did in the beginning. Remember he lost like 20 pounds, started practicing his free-throw shooting, and said he wouldn't mind taking a back seat to Wade? Pretty much all the things he had too much pride to do in L.A.

But since then he's been the same old Shaq. Taking his usual 3 month vacations, acting like an immature jackass in every interview, and making his teammates carry his weight.

My quip here is really why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch over Shaq. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If he hadn't gotten hurt, he would have put up the same numbers he's been putting up since he was traded, and which won Miami a title.

In the end it's a win-win situation for everyone so stop acting like little girls and let it go. You have to look at it from both sides instead of just the side you want to see. The Lakers have plent of talent with or without Shaq.

Homie, have you watched Shaq play since the trade? He was NEVER the dominant force he was in LA. yea, he lost weight and tried getting in shape for a change when he first got to Miami, but he was already too old and still ended up putting up career lows year after year...It obviously wasn't a win situation for the Heat, seeing as where they are right now, with Shaq still getting $20 mill a year through 2010... :-X
