It's really pathetic when the highest-selling album of the year can't even sell 4 million copies.  I remember times when there was almost always one record a year that went Diamond, or at least something like 8x Platinum.

this might be the last yr of the CD, companies are going to start to look for other venues to make a profit, CD sales were down 5% and have been going down for the last 6 years while file to file sharing networks and digital downloads are at an all time high

That Hinder song is really starting to piss me off.  I didn't think they were that popular tho.

Nickelback was just certified 5x plat, they are one of the few acts that consistently sell still

i know so many fuckin' scene kids that won't let vinyl die. if vinyl is what it is, then i'ama be coppin' cds for a long time. there'll be mad sales when they stop makin' them shits. it'll be coo'.

also, the dvd format( a la ice cuibe/dogg pound vid for every song) will become popular among the record industry before cds die.

CD's won't die.  They're profitable when they sell.  I'd rather buy a CD than pay for a DL.  I always pick up cheap CD's at best buy.  Like the new Roots album was like 8 bucks, I didn't plan on pickin it up, but it was so cheap so I did.
