seems like we really missed out on an opportunity here which would have shaped europe entirely differently to how is today, now we've got the EU (formerly the EEC) which is woefully inneffecient on desicion making and still trying to pursue policies and ideoligies where are simply not compatable with the realities of the 21st century. I'm amazed we are doing as well as we are, but the beaurocracy and restictiveness of the EU is going to be catestophic as the likes of china and india become ever more powerful, the economies of western europe are bound to shink unless we change course.
