Parenting - When do you want to have kids, get married?

That's what I'm hoping for too. If I have a girl first, I'm hiring her a bodyguard.

I'm not sure that I'll have kids.  If I do, I don't see it happening for another 10 years.  Luckily, I know that I'm pretty selfish right now.  I have zero interest in being a father figure at this stage in my life.  I'm 26, but I'm coming up in my career and I'm gonna play my ass off.  Making $80k w/o kids is like making $200k w/ kids.  I like the freedom of being able to do what I want when I want, without asking permission or clearing it with anybody else. 

And they say that 30 is the new 20 and I think there's some real validity to that.  My parents popped out kids in their early 20's, but thats what was expected in their day.  I don't think you should get married and have kids just because it's what everybody else does.  I know some people that do that because they thought it was the thing to do, and are miserable now.

i'd say we were all born in the best generation of recent history, and we got alot more time and freedom on our hands, so i goto agree 30 is the new 20 and i'm lovin it!  8)
