BURN....GAY Z....BURN!

According to Mobb Deep's Prodigy, the video for "Burn," a track from the hip-hop duo's December 11 release, Infamy, will be "the authentic regular sh-- you used to."

No exotic locations, million-dollar budget or Bentley coups for this clip. "Burn" is about hoodies, Timberland boots and all the rowdy hip-hop heads that could fit into the basement of D.C. Live, a Washington, D.C., nightclub.

Prodigy, partner Havoc and guest star Big Noyd took to the stage and streets surrounding the venue Friday for the Diane Martell-directed clip.

"We bringing back the drama," Prodigy said on the set as shooting wrapped at the club. "Our style of hip-hop, our style of beats, our style of rhymes — you gonna give us burn. We gonna get our burn that we deserve."

Mixtape king DJ Kay Slay has been giving the Mobb time to shine on his street offerings recently. Slay was in D.C. over the weekend for Howard University's homecoming festivities and stayed to support the Queens, New York, natives.

"Prodigy and them said they having a video shoot today so I stayed," said Slay, who missed a Funkmaster Flex tour date to participate in the video. "Being that I'm mentioned in the song, I represented."

"You don't think I live a pop life now/ Cause hey, you could get popped right now/ Me no play, I keep around my waist/ Cause I'm a f----ing drama king like my n---- Kay Slay," rhymed Noyd, imploring a ruckus.

Slay bopped to the beat behind him onstage, as did the Alchemist (Jadakiss, Ghostface Killah, Fat Joe). The producer will play Mobb's DJ in the video, a position he's held in real life.

"I came out here because that's family," said Alchemist, who produced "Keep It Thoro" for Prodigy's 2000 solo LP, H.N.I.C. "I DJ for them sometime out on the road."

A similar scene involving more rocking to Mobb's belligerent melodies was filmed a few blocks away in front of an abandoned building.

"Skid marked the streets/ Heart skipped a beat/ Beef?/ N---- overcooked that meat," Havoc rhymed as his music stomped out of the playback speakers.

The duo's next video, "Hey Luv," will be the album's official first single. "'Burn' ain't our first single," Prodigy explained. "It's just a white label, something we throwing out there for now." The video for "Hey Luv" will be shot in Philadelphia over the next couple of weeks, according to the Mobb's spokesperson.

"That song is about what you would say to another guy's chick," Prodigy said of the song, which features 112. "We going at other guys' chicks. We liked 112 for a minute, so we said, 'Let's throw them on that.'"

No concept or director has been chosen for the clip yet. The video for "Burn" should be out about the same time "Hey Luv" goes into production, according to Mobb Deep's spokesperson.

Mobb Deep is ready to unleash another round of "blood talk" late this fall.

The duo's fifth album, Infamy, is scheduled to hit stores December 4, according to a spokesperson for their label, Loud. Lil' Mo, 112, Ron Isley and the Lox will be featured alongside the duo of Havoc and Prodigy on some of the LP's tracks, most of which Havoc produced himself, as usual. The Alchemist, who produced "Keep It Thoro" on the 2000 Prodigy solo effort H.N.I.C., also laid down tracks for Infamy, he said.

Although the group is still in the lab, Mobb Deep have released their first single, "Burn," which features their longtime running buddy Big Noyd and Ja Rule's "Put It on Me" co-rapper, Vita.

"When will you ever learn, keep playing with that fire, that ass'll get burned?" warns Vita in the chorus as the three others big up their street clout.

The hardcore, "straight gangsta" grit Havoc promised the album would contain was questioned recently by Jay-Z on The Blueprint. Among other disses on "The Takeover," Jay says of the Mobb's bravado, "We don't believe you."

Earlier this year, Prodigy leveled shots at Jay-Z and the Roc-A-Fella camp. At last month's Source Awards, however, he said not to expect him to keep going back and forth with Jigga on record.

When asked if there would be any retaliatory name calling on Infamy, Prodigy replied, "Nah, we're doing us, we're doing the Mobb. No way that corny dude is gonna get light on our album. We just gonna make good music."

I like Mobb Deep, but that Burn song is only decent & the HNIC album was half-ass IMO compared to there earlier work. Hopefully they drop some good shit on this album, thou Burn isnt as bad as some of you'se said
