It sounds exactly like crunk. Nobody gonna pick up a hyphy cd.
too short was blowing up around the same time as N.W.Aand have you listened to Mac Dre? Dude has classic material. You can't really speak on hyphy unless you're familiar with Mac Dre's work and once you are familiar with his work you probaby wouldn't speak so negatively on it.
Mac Dre used to be the shit when he was fucking with Khayree. Anybody knows what went down between them? Mac Dre clowned Khayree bad after he left YBB.Khayree;www.youngblackbrotha.comKhayree's resume;www.discogs.com/Khayree

But i never listened to Mac Dre. I know Too short is big but i never really liked him but im not trying to say he sucks or nothing.Im just saying that Southern California was a whole movement that was from here to New York. Mac Dre wasnt really known and alot of people didnt hear about him till after his death.Hyphy has never and will probably never be as big as what southern california was during 90's. I like some hyphy songs. I aint hating on hyphy. But it sounds too much like crunk to me.And what happened to the movement anyway?
I have never heard Khayree talking bad about Mac Dre,but Mac Dre did a couple of diss tracks towards Khayree. Yes,I got these tracks, but it has been years since I gave those tracks a spin,so I don't remember which album they're on. I got so many Mac Dre albums/compilation that I mix them all up. I got some friends that are crazy into Mac Dre,so I could ask them.I remember that Dubee was also featured on one of the diss tracks towards Khayree.
I hope the west doesnt go down the Hyphy route cause to me, hyphy music is boring although i understand heres a culture around it now. Plus stop looking to dre to bring a new west coast sound. Doesn't the west coast have another producer thats inventive enough to create his own sound other than Dre? Maybe thats the difference...We have to look to the new West Coast. If Dre or Quik or Battlecat invent some new sound for the west coast then great but they've done their part, its time for new cats to step up to the bar.
