Tell me about Amsterdam

OK, so I'm heading to Amsterdam in May for a friend's stag weekend. It's my first visit.

All I know is the stereotypical weed and hookers info, so I'm hoping someone here can tell me exactly what a three-day bender in the city will be like.

I shouldn't imagine any of us will be paying for p...., but I shall certainly expect there to be lots of ridiculously hot women there that I can fail to hook up with after drinking too much beer and smoking too much.

Is that pretty much a fair summary? Where are the cool spots to hit? We're staying in some central area beginning with 'L' - can't remember it off the top of my head.

Any help/advice/info appreciated.

i´ve been to Amsterdam and other then the weed it was a little overrated. and we fucked up coz we smoked all day everyday so i can´t really remember too much of what we actually did. and if you´re smoked outta your mind you´ll miss visiting a lot historical places and shit like that so don´t smoke too much. but i was annoyed by all of the fucking bicycles, i´ve never seen that many bikes in my entire life.

Well.. if youre gonna be getting stoned.. go to the Bulldog, Barney's, De Dampkring, or the Greenhouse..

Theres much more to do though than smoke dope like Pissin' said, otherwise youre not gonna see any of it cause you'll be too snazed.


Heres one of the best maps online, it shows most of all the attractions, clubs, coffeeshops, smart shops.. lots. You should go on a canal boat ride..Its a very beautiful city.

im from holland but i never really go to Amsterdam. I live in the best city in Holland so no need for that.

I dont know what music you like when your going out, but these are some the most known clubs in amsterdam, escape and melkweg. But you should just walk around the city
and see what looks nice to you. And check out the flyers that are everywhere. You should definetly go to clubs if you score some fine bitches.

And 1 peace of advise, dont by no drugs from those dealers in the city. They will probably sell you shit, and maybe even rob you.
