G-Unit Records just got a deal with Interscope Records, not with Shady Records or Aftermath Entertainment.. 50 Cent is signed as a solo artist to Shady/Aftermath/Interscope Records, and as a group (G-Unit) to G-Unit/Interscope Records...

I am following your thought train here, let's travel a little farther down this path

a) so Dre just did two beats on the G Unit album out of goodwill/like he would a Jay record or something and not because it was on AM?
b)if AM folded tomorrow, G-Unit records would still exist?

It's just hard for me to take it seriously when rappers say they have labels because so few rappers really even have the power to drop a record. If rappers were more credible I would see the boutique labels as real labels, but given the lack of credibility/track record of boutique labels, I was completely legitimate in boiling down the label in my mind to the real labels in discussion here: Aftermath and Interscope. But I see what you're saying, especially if that shit is true abotu G Unit not being on Shady.
