Rihanna Unveils Jay-Z-Assisted 'Umbrella'
« on: March 29, 2007, 11:29:33 AM »
Jam recording artist Rihanna will debut her new single, "Umbrella" featuring Jay-Z, today at 5 pm ET. The C. Tricky Stewart-produced track is the first single from the singer's as-yet-untitled third album, due June 5.

The album is the follow-up to Rihanna's sophomore set, "A Girl Like Me," which featured hits like "S.O.S." and the Ne-Yo-penned "Unfaithful." The album, which reached No. 2 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, earned the Barbados-bred singer four top honors at the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, including female artist of the year and female pop artist of the year.

Rihanna's 2005 debut, "Music of the Sun," peaked at No. 6 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured tracks like "Pon De Replay," which topped out at No. 2 on the Pop 100.
