I had my mp3 player on 'random' at the weekend and 'The Christmas Song' by Danny Boy from 'Xmas on Death Row' came on.

Now, obviously the first thing this prompted me to do was delete the song from the player due to the fact that it's absolutely terrible and must have hidden somewhere and escaped my attention when I was deleting the 80% of that album that's tedious R&B wank.

But it also struck me how incredibly naff Danny Boy is - he sings like someone auditiong for Pop Idol in front of Simon Cowell - you know, trying far too hard despite the fact he's clearly just passable but will never be a star.

On top of which, he sings like a fruit. Come on, I know it's not fashionable to comment on that cos it suggests I've paid too much attention, but that kid is definitely batting for the other team.

wasnt he on pop idol and got booted off because he was still "signed" to death row ?
