« on: September 09, 2001, 05:13:54 PM »
I got my set of turntables almost a month ago but I'm curious to know how would I record my mixes to a cd or tape. I'm really trying to make mix tapes and stuff like that but I don't know how to record my mixes.

go to radio shack or Guitar center plus and they have a lot of recording machines that you plug into your mixer....they kinda cost a pretty penny though

Yeah, Jake's right, I had 2 cop a recording machine, mine was second hand though from a friend so it wasn't all that much considering.
Kane, it takes alot of patience/time 2 start mixing. First off u gotta mark ALL your records 2 get the correct beat times so u know what u can & can't mix, then it's pretty much uphill from there. A friend pretty much learnt me all I know, it's alot harder teaching yourself as you don't know if your improving or not. If I was u i'd get a cheap set (some come with free mixers included) or even a second hand set & learn wit them. Scratching is alot easier to catch onto IMO.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

I got the numark battle pak. Which comes with 2 direct drive turntables, 2 slipmats, a dm1001x mixer and a set of headphones, cables, and everything else you need included.    It's pretty good if your'e new to djing. It comes with a book that tells you about djing and stuff. It's around $500. I got sam ash to sell it to me for $400 though. It takes practice to get good. I'm still a rookie, I need to cop some more records.   I never really marked my records. I just tried to learnt them inside out.

I'm having trouble beat matching and blending out of a record smoothly. I don't think any of my records match with each other so most of the time I have to slam them together when the beat drops on a record.

Believe me it's much easier 2 mark records. I didn't really do it when I first got started, I was like you, jus' trying 2 mix & match everything, it can b done that way, but it sounds nicer if everything is put together "correctly". I was gonna cop the battle pak when I first got started but the I managed 2 cop a nice cheap set that I basically learnt everything I know on.
