More info on Cube & WC's new albums
« on: May 15, 2007, 01:29:28 PM »
Just a little bit of information to add to what is already known: Producer Emile who did "Doin What it Spose 2Do" and "Click Clack-Get Back" from Cube's last album will be producing on Raw Footage as well.  He apparently submitted 3 tracks for Cube's album and 3 for WC's record.  I also read that the album name Raw Footage may have been changed to "Bout That Time" ??? but that is speculation as of now. Furthermore, producer Knottz(Snoop's "That's That Shit") has also submitted beats for both Cube and Dub's new albums, both of which are due this year with Dub coming first on August 14th.  Peace!

props to you my dude

I'm cool with Emile producing agian. Doin What It Pose 2 Do was one of the dopest tracks on the album, but I felt like Emile dropped the ball on click clack - get back. Time well tell on the album name I guess is all we can say. Good news on Nottz producing, that's that shit was fire. I can see Cube/WC/Both leading with a single produced by this guy. I doubt Cube's album will drop this year. I think were all ok with waiting until early 08 for it. Drop Dub's on august 14, promote it properly, do the tour for it and so on. Then when Dub's album begins to quiet down, Drop the cube (08). One thing at a time ;)

Dubcnn: Definitely, we’re looking forward to hearing some more production from you man. Alright, so we’re looking forward to WC’s new album, Ice Cube’s new album, and some new stuff from you. So, is there anything else you wanna say to everyone at Dubcnn?

Yeah, I’m puttin’ out a record too. When? I’m not too sure when I’m doin’ it, but I’ma do it and put out a West Coast record. It’s gonna be straight from our coast, you know, a celebration for the West Coast. And, all you mixtape DJs, just step your game up man. You know, I’ve got a lot of love for everybody but, I don’t tolerate wack shit, so, you know, step your game up man, and let’s keep it crackin’.

I am assuming if he did a record that would be the format, compilation style.

It would work and I can't remember the last time the west has had a compilation like that. He could definitely put it together.

yea. My only concern is the label losing funds. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but wouldn't you lose $$$ unless you move an incredlble amount of units? You figure he gotta pay everybody to appear on it.

Most of those artists do favor for a favor when appearing on albums. I am sure some monetary number is agreed upon but if they are cool with each other it normally is not some high amount. If it is that artist won't be on the album.  ;D Unless your label has deep pockets.

true. But then agian Toones don't rap and don't produce anymore (i did read the part bout pickin it back up though) so a favour for a favour may be difficult to work out.

U would be surprised. It's almost a unwritten rule for most rappers. Toones has crazy connections so I know he could get all of the guests from CT and put them on a official compilation. That was damn near the entire coast.
