« on: June 06, 2007, 11:20:01 AM »
Jermaine Dupri is opening a new club in Atlanta called "Studio 72" on June 16th. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dupri spent $1 million making renovations to the 12,000-square-foot location, which is located at 3965 Lawrenceville Highway, "Studio 72" will be comparable to a modern day version of Studio54 located in New York's. His celebrity and media friends will preview it on June 12th, before it is opened to the general public on the 16th.

Jermaine Durpri recently made headlines by signing Jason Fox to Island Urban Music. For those that don't know, Jason Fox is a rapper from Harlem and is known for the new song "Aunt Jackie." The track has already gained over 150,000 plays on MySpace and the homemade video has gotten 275,000 views on YouTube. Jermaine is also planning on shooting a professional video for the song.

Nice to know. Hopefully the club thing will work out for him...
Speaking of Jermaine: wasn't this guy on the edge of going bankrupt a few years back? I remember reading an article where they confiscated his cars and house, if I remember right (I think it was somewhere around 2003).

there was a problem with his taxes, so the IRS was seizing his property.  I think it was just a fuck up and it's all settled now.

^^^^Yeah, you're right. It had something to do with the IRS. Probably tax-evasion if my memory serves me right. Good to hear he's got it all worked out...
