Imo Big Pun was very limited as a rapper, his lyrics were aight but hewas breeathing like a fuckin' horse on his tracks, that really spoiled many of his could-be classics, plus i think Joell Ortiz is a much better MC cause he is able to adapt to different topics with the same style and come cool with all of his songs, no matter what topic it's about.

Of course we will have to wait for his Aftermath debut to really judge this for the full 100% (if he can come up with interesting yet commercial lyrics) but what i heard this far has really impressed me.

Hmm, i completely disagree about Pun. I thought he was one of the most well rounded mcs ever. He could get away withmaking a club joint absolutly no problem (look at its so hard, one of my favourite tracks) but Pun was HARDCORE AS FUCK when he wanted 2 be. Forget the name of the track but hes basically rapping about killing people with chainsaws the entire track. I dont remember too many beefs (not including the little shots he took at 50) but i would bet my last dollar not 2 many rappers woud want 2 get in a lyrical battle with Pun.

Haven't listened to Joell Ortiz.  Aftermath hasn't interested me in years.  If somebody has something upped on zshare I'd like to hear it.  And Pun was a great MC.  Ill flow and could spit multi's right along w/ the all time greats like G Rap, AZ, etc.

And like I said, I haven't heard dude, but just cuz he's latino or whatever doesn't make him Pun.  Let him stand on his own ground.

I'd hoped that the whole tone of my first post would make it clear that I was kinda playing around with the 'ignorant' comparison.

Nevertheless, the dude is certainly the best 'MC' on Aftermath at the moment, unless there's ever some miraculous turnaround in Eminem, which I highly doubt.

@ Jrome: you can download Ortiz' album "The Brick" from albumbase.com: you're missing out on something!
