AZ and preemo needa do an album already
Thanks to everyone that suggested and pointed out some AZ tracks I need to hear, or may have missed.I went back and listened to Doe Or Die again... and it's clear that whenever he's thinking he's an Italian mobster and doing that played out Mafioso rap that the executives at the label probably told him to do.. HE'S WACK! But whenever he's rappin on that 5% Islamic tip that sounds like something he would of picked up in prison... HE'S DOPE! I found a couple other ill tracks off Doe Or Die that I missed before..."We Can't Win"- this is an ill track, very detailed lyrically.. they are droppin knowledge on this track, but it's still fire! This is the style he does best. also.. "The World Don't Stop" and "Doe Or Die" are nice tracks.
Doe or Die is a classic album. I dont know how anyone in there right mind can say AZ had a subpar solo career. Pieces of a black man, awol, the come up, and aziatic are all amazing albums. Awol was the album of the year in 2005. AZ is the most underatted rapper ever. From your post tho I doubt you have heard his album Doe or Die in full and if you did it was when you were in your full west coast swing. And the flyest is far from one of Nas and AZ's best. Listen to the song Mo money mo murder and the way they flow off each other is amazing. I think you have heard a very limited sample of his music and if so you are really missing out. AZ >>>> 95% of the game.
I haven't checked for him since 2000 but I personally liked alot of his songs and albums. Yeah he's definitely underrated.
