that topic got locked for some reason... but someone wrote the following...

"i agree Bone is really influential especially in the Mid West division of hip hop...when they came out look at all the groups that followed...Crucial Conflict, Do Or Die, Three 6 Mafia [Yeh I Know They SOUTH But They Used To Sound Like Bone], Twista [Got A New Deal After Bone Dropped], Speed Knot Mobstaz, etc...now you got peeps like Nelly that is obviously influenced by Bone with his sing song flow..."

when did Bone come out, like '94.  Chi-town and Memphis have been laying it down for longer than that.  Bone came out and it was similiar, but at the same time it was different.  Fact is that Bone cannot touch Twista, they didn't really have much to do with influencing the Chi-town style and I'd love for someone to tell Juicy J or DJ Paul that Bone had influenced them, yeah right.  Three six was layin it down for like 5+ years even before Live By Yo Rep came out.  Draw a line from Chicago through Louiville and down to Memphis and along that road you got cats that you aint never heard of that Bone can't touch.

That being said, I got much love for Bone and I consider them to be in the top five.  I just got more love for the underground scene in the three cities I mentioned.

My pick for best group even though they ain't never sold one commercial album yet... Psycho Drama.  Buy this months Murder Dog, the one with Snoop on it and finally the rest of America can see Yung Buk and Psydes picture.  They the hottest group out there and according to the article, the flood gates are about to be opened and the songs are coming out.
Also, Crucial Conflict has gone gold twice without much publicity sittin on Pallas Records, they hot too, and they bout to be coming out with a bunch of new stuff.  And anyday now someone from Louisville is gonna come out and get everyones attention.

Bone was doing they thing from Cleveland and it's all good... but you know how some people are like Dre and Snoop and before them Ice T "made" the west... well Bone didn't "make" shit, except for a name for themselves.  They didn't really influence anybody.  They were flipping a style that was already formed... they took it to there own level and molded a style of there own but they didnt come up with nutin new.  Trust me Chicago don't need no help from Bone.

the reason i put bone in the top five is because they have a history, they have released some real classic shit and they've stacked they money... so you have to show your respect and place em... BUT, if Chicago or Memphis or Louisville or Cincy or any of these other midwest towns got some financial backin like Eazy E gave Bone... then Bone might not last in the top five.

U can not say Bone stole their style from 3-6 cause they dont sound nothin like em, and u cant say they stole their style from Twista cause dats like sayin DPG stole NWA's style but made it alittle different.

Bone have a SINGNATUE style and dats dat.

aight... THERE IS NO ONE ELSE OUT THERE LIKE BONE... but there are a whole roster of groups in the midwest, that Bone wouldn't be able to touch if they ever got out...

sure the Speedknot Mobstaz ain't got nutin on Bone... but Bone ain't got nutin on Twista...

and they not in the same ballpark as Psycho Drama... that's like some Jordan vs. Ehlo shit.. lol

what i meant as "influential" is Bone brought Mid West hip hop into the limelight and i wasn't referring to the style...i should have made that more clear...anyways they opened doors for Mid West just like how Eminem re-opened doors for white mc's...

Bloody HELL this has turned out to be one HELL of an argument.

Now i can't really be bothered to get involved in this disscusion coz i don't want to write a lot but i'll say this. BONE have just as much right to be considered as being one of the BEST hip hop groups as anyone else. To say other wise simply to ME means they are closed minded individuals. (and possibly bone haters).

Bone have been around longer than many of the groups metioned on ppls lists, they have accomplished more than 80% of the groups mentioned, have dropped many great albums and have definetly been historical.

Basically you can hate Bone all you ppl want but to denie them to be in the best group category is plain STUPID.

Im out.

Thats the most absurd thing ive heard. How the fuck you gonna say Bone didnt have any impact?? E.1999 Eternal is the BLUEPRINT for midwest hip hop. Oh, and for the record, Bone is 348872368920860298 x better than Physco Drama and Twista. What the fuck has Physco Drama done on the level that Bone has. Nobody outside of Chicago even knows who the fuck they are. Neither Physco Drama or Twista has even come close to dropping an album on the same level as E.1999 Eternal.

you're right... Psycho Drama hasn't dropped any albums on the level of E.1999... they haven't released anything yet.  there's a Greatest Hits CD that's for all intents and purposes not in print and then they are on a bunch of underground chi town mixes... that's why I say Bone is in the top 5 right now...

BUT, if Psycho Drama ever got some backing and was able to start releasing their material, it'd be clear who has more talent.

I love Krayzie Bone to death... but come on, ain't no one as tight as Yung Buk

and also... I know you've heard Crook County by Twista (there's two versions... the album version and then one that includes Buk and Psyde)... Twista rips Bone on the last verse

now I know that everythings all good now after Midwest Invasion and all, and I'm not stirring up old beef, I'm stating who's got more talent

I always liked Three 6 Mafia since they droped their underground shit, and they never sounded Midwest...
