Rapper Snoop Dogg's work and family life will be the focus of a new reality series, E! Entertainment Television announced.

The yet-unnamed series will debut later this year and is described by the cable channel as "hilarious and heartwarming."

Snoop Dogg, seen here in a 2006 file photo, is divorced and has three children.
(Paul Miller/Associated Press) "Snoop Dogg is, without a doubt, one of the most charismatic and intriguing personalities in pop culture today," said Ted Harbert, president and CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, which operates the E! channel, on Friday.

"The juggling act that Snoop faces day in, day out between career and family is certain to resonate with our viewers."

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., is divorced, has three children and runs the Snoop Youth Football League, in addition to having to deal with various court-ordered obligations.

The multiple-platinum-selling rapper was sentenced in April to five years' probation and 800 hours of community service after he pleaded no contest to felony gun and drug charges. He was arrested last year at a California airport for transporting marijuana and illegal gun possession.

That's one of several incidents over the past two years involving drug and gun charges.

Britain refused entry to the 35-year-old in March for the second time within a year. The refusal stems from a 2006 incident.

In April 2006, Snoop Dogg and five other men were arrested on charges of violent disorder and spent a night in jail, after some in his party were denied entry to British Airways' first class lounge at Heathrow Airport.

Snoop Dogg, who released Tha Blue Carpet Treatment last November, also serves as an executive producer for XM Satellite Radio's classic hip-hop channel and hosts Welcome to da Chuuch with Big Snoop Dogg.

He's acted in several television shows including The L Word as well as the 2004 movie remake of Starsky & Hutch.
