Cam's Purple Haze!!!! almost every track is a 5/5 perfect track

LOL I was talking about OB4CL.

huh?  and Im serious man, if u have that album on ur comp go through it, its flawless!

Only Built 4 Cuban Link, the purple cassette tape version.

I have heard Purple Haze quite a few times, I just really didn't like it, same as Come Home With Me. I was more impressed by Killa Season than any thing he has put out since Confessions of Fire.

To truly be a fan you have to appreciate and understand the classic/other really good albums. Even if their are a couple you never felt.

I disagree.

To me, the heart of hip-hop is making your own style and not conforming to a preconceived image. And that means not embracing a canon of albums just because it's the accepted list of 'classics'.

Don't get me wrong: the majority of music I listen to is from my personal 'golden age' of 1991-1996. All the albums people here have listed are great, great records. But to suggest that someone coming up, say in their teens, is less of a hip-hop fan because they don't appreciate a 15 year old album is unfair.

Fact: there will be kids out there whose first hip-hop album was 'The Massacre'. And for them, that album will always be as important as, say, LL's 'Mama Said Knock You Out' is to me. I might not agree with them that it's a great or even decent album, but if 50's records inspire them and give them that rush that golden age MCs gave me, it's not my place to judge whether they're 'truly' hip-hop fans.

Just my thoughts. Peace.
