I agree with you there. I don't think it'll ever happen because it'll cheapen the Champions League aswell and in turn cheapen the prestige of the Europa League as the three playoff losers will just see it as a 'wooden spoon' which it isn't. 99% of teams would kill to be in the Europa League. It always pisses me off when people say its a shit competition. Same for the League Cup.

Man Utd have seem to be taking it pretty seriously the last few years too. If anything it should be a bigger cup than the FA Cup. Only teams from the Football League get to play in it. ;D

I think its a good thing a few teams like Man Utd arent taking the piss anymore. Just as an example that Manchester semi-final derby was one of the more memorable fixtures of this season. I don't understand why more teams don't really go for the League Cup as it represents a much more genuine opportunity for glory. Teams in the Premiership that aren't challenging for the Champions League should all be busting a gut to win it.

the thing what always bugs me about arsenal is they havent won fuck all in over 5 years.. so you'd think they'd treat the league cup with a bit more enthusiasm seeings as the likelyhood of winning either the prem or the champs league is slim as hell.

I agree with you to a certain degree, however the LC is just a bonus. What pisses me off is that Wenger fucked up with the FA Cup >:(
