nelly & chingy are from st louis, which is located in the mid-west

Missouri can be both south and midwest. Depends on which way the artist takes it. I have heard Nelly refer to himself as south quite a bit, and he did a song with a country singer. Tech N9ne on the other hand is midwest through and through.
