I believe Bone should be on the list...They from cleveland but was brought up by eazy and came to LA to really start there rap game. But besides that, everyone in california listens or has to Bone in there life and imo have really defined west coast music...

I could see why SCC could be on the list but it would be pretty high, they definetly had an impact in the west coast gangsta music from the streets, but not alot of people have heard of them.

i would throw Bone and the Eazy E category.... without Eazy and U-Neek, you wouldn't be thinking of Cali when you hear them....

Now.... this may be before your time, but before Dr. Dre, people like the Egpytian Lover, The L.A. Dream Team had the California hits of the land...

The Egyptian Lover with Egypt, Egypt... and The L.A. Dream Team with "The Dream Team Is In The House".... at one time there wasn't a car or a house party that wasn't playing those songs....

wouldn't psycho realm go under the Cypress category?

I suppose the egyptian lover/dream team old school L.A. hip-hop does encapsulate the 80's nightlife in CA sound pretty well I agree.

aside from the alkaholiks/likwit crew missing, i would also add the pharcyde..........but really, the liks should be there, thats a big omission......not everything LA rap related needs have a heavy synth or talk box....lyrically their CA all day! not to mention all the people their affiliated with and brought in the game........and if living legends are gonna be on the list so should dilated peoples..........so yeah, likwit crew, pharcyde, & dilated...........and that closes out the list

remember, it's not about listing an artists and their affiliates. it's more like the root of a certain california sound.

for example, once you list N.W.A or Dre it becomes less necessary to list all the other L.A. cats who sound like/came from Dre's sound.

no doubt-great entry

hah, i only get on dub from work so i have pics disabled, but when my home PC's good again, I'll have to enable it so I see that shit everytime cause yeah, he does look toasted.

I don't know that he was toasted so much as he was tired. he JUST finished up like 2-3 hours in the studio booth when we took that pic.
