I think that Richard Marx made the two greatest love songs in history...

"Hold On To The Night" is a mystical and triumphant love song, that is timeless way beyond the 80's.   The song has two 3 climactiv moments.... The first one is when he says...

"That the someone I've been searching for is RIGHT THERE...erererrrrrrreeee!"

Then the second climactic moment is when he says....

"I don't know how, to stop feeeeeling this wayaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!"

...that's really an amazing part of the song, because his emotions are too high, he can no longer keep them in, and he has to apologize in a way for holding such strong and powerful emotions because having such emotions can be dangerous, and society generally prefers to play it safe, betterto resign ourselves to our own prideful ways, then to lay our emotions on the line with such an immense lack of caution.  ...but there comes a point when a person loses all concern for ones pride and strips themselves naked emotionally, bearing their inner-soul, and leaving their lover in total control with the option of breaking and destroying their seekers heart, or making the space molecules explode into a thousand stars that light up the heavens.

The last climactic line is when he lets the beat ride, and just flows mystically a top the beat.... "Wooohhh ohhhh ohhhhhh ohh oh"   At this point he's in a space and time all his own, and only true lovers can relate.

His other great love song, was the one where he sings.. "Wherever You Go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you".   Again, this is the ultimate expression of love and passion, time has stood still, and a lover decides they would rather exist in that moment for eternity than move on with their lives.  And who is to tell them they can't.

I was talking about Rock music when I said I'd have to listen to every rap song ever created before I'd check out Rock music.

On my Ipod I have hundreds of songs.  Most all of it is mid-90's hip-hop and 80's love songs.
