Messi19 just a couple things I disagree with:

- you said "if Game's beef with 50 helped him sales wise, then 50's beef with Ja, Jada, Nas... helped him". You can't really say that. 50 has huge sales based on his hit singles; wether it's In Da Club, 21 Questions, PIMP, Disco Inferno, Candy Shop, Lil Bit, Outta Control, AYO, I Get Money. Those were all top 10 singles, many of them being nb.1. On the other hand Game's singles on DA, didn't even break top 40 I think.

- you said something about being more popular= more downloaded. That's true but the same goes for your T.I.'s, 50's, Jay's, Kanye's Em's and they still do big numbers. And that thing about Game leaking tracks a week before release date, lol, everybody does that, mostly it's 2 weeks before the release date.

- the main point of Low Key was that Dre didn't do shit with Game, untill 50 put him under his wing and got him to grind like crazy. That is true, nobody can deny that. Even Game didn't. I disagree with Low Key about the rest, how Game was just lucky and how he doen't deserve the spot... I used to think the same untill he started killing all the mixtapes and guest features and stepped his game up a lil bit on DA (still, too much name dropping). But you can't deny that 50 is basically the reason, we even hear Game right now.

Nah homie i meant that he leaked them himself. He said so and if you remember only like 5 tracks leaked and not the whole album so
i think he really did leak em.

But T.I. has never sold more than Game except now (T.I. 4 albums deep) on this album. And he only sold 100.000 more than Game (maybe even less than that). He said T.I. did AWESOME numbers and claims Game doesn't have mass appeal yet T.I. only sold a few more numbers than him. Yeah of course i knew 50 helped him, but he's sayin that Game blew up completely because of him. Then u might as well say that 50 blew up completely because of Em and his white fanbase. 50 only helped him in the sence that G-Unit had a biig buzz back at that time and Game himself gained more buzz when he "joined" G-Unit. Cuz it wasn't 50 who said that he wanted to help Game it was Jimmy Iovine to made that idea so they never planned for him to actually join G-Unit like dat, other than to gain buzz.

But the thing about it is. Game is 2 albums deep. So he's basin his opinion based on Game not sellin on the last project. You can't judge now, you have to judge when he's at least 3-4 albums deep. Lil Wayne wasn't even considered when you talked about hot rappers before and look at dude now. Thats what i meant with the Snoop thing, things can change as long as you have a fanbase (Cash Money had a fanbase) and you work more and more wit mainstrea artists and maybe start switchin it up and rap about u know other shit than gangsta. Im sure back then u would of said the same thing about Wayne. It's just that Game stays with the same gangsta shit as always and refuses to do shit like workin wit Justin Timberlake, Enrique Iglesias (thats good though) like he does or basically just music for "other people" outside of people who only listens to gangsta rap, and thats why Game is waaaay hotter in Cali than other places (except the fact he's from the west), cuz most people listen to gangsta shit on the west, gangsta rap started on the west. But when and if u work with more mainstream artists and do more music for all people then your fanbase broadens.

Good thread. Crafty is on point with his post. West coast needs to focus on putting out quality material. And just because you don't see a west coast album on your favorite billboard charts does not mean that the album is not quality. Especially out here. Evidence, Kemo, Sick Jacken and Muggs and many other underground artists have dropped stellar albums this year. People need to stop getting caught up in all this coastal dominance and just focus on them and making good music.

from a commercial point of view this could be the biggest year for the west in a long time. Its about 90 percent certain we'll get albums from Game, Snoop & Cube plus 50/50 on Dre, plus other dudes like Bishop, Lil Eazy & Juice, have a decent chance of releasing an album. I reckon if Dre puts out Detox, it could open many doors.....

opinions?

Forgot one of the biggest

Hey now, I did not say Game didn't deserve to be a multi-platinum artist. I was conveying that without the push he got from G-Unit, I'm 100% sure he wouldn't be where he is right now. He would have ended up like every other west coast artist on Aftermath, only selling 100k units independently or retiring all together. That is why I said he got lucky and hooked up with the right people at the right time.

Oh, then I misunderstood you. I agree with that, without Fif, Game would be another Hittman or Joe Beast, that's for sure.

yep, but don't get it twisted though( not directed at anyone in particular); it's not that dre turned his back on the westcoast, but dre doesn't stand up for his artists(no matter where they're from). that's probably why a lot of aftermath artists have ( or had) to wait in line; dre lets interscope decide. apparently 50 is better at standing up for his artists, cause the "core" of G-unit members were able to release their debut albums a lot quicker in compared to a random aftermath artist(actually it's not even sure if they are able to release their debut on aftermath).

That could be true..but what about Em??
I think Dre after Snoop, Em was the artist that i think Dre pushed the most..or Am I wrong??

yeah but interscope wanted to sign eminem before dre even heard any songs by eminem;i think interscope brought eminem to dre's attention.

no matter what dre wants, unless interscope is behind it, it probably won't happen(with the exception of detox). hittman is a perfect example of that; dre put him on 2001 after all and we all know what happened after that.

Create the demand how?

But like other people said this is probably the last chance for the new west to help bring the west back even more.
Outta all those people you mentioned (read: on that list) people are only demandin: Jay Rock, O. Cruz, You, Crooked and Bishop. Personally im checkin for everybody except Spider Loc, and i dont know who Felli is so him too. But on a bigger scale those are the ones people are checkin for you feel me. But most of these artists album will get pushed back and whatnot.

I could see great things happening and I hope they do for the coast, but an L.A. station should have more than 3 west coast tracks in their top 10.  And the only one that I know is getting played around the nation is "Cyclone" by Baby Bash, and he doesn't really represent the West, I saw something about him saying he is from Houston I'm not sure why he always changes where he is from. I'm not trying to sound negative, the West has talent and even though they aren't killing the Billboard charts, there are some quality artists putting out music, and that's what matters.
I got a bird's eye view
