anybody know of a good site to download software, that is free and safe to download?
lookin for a new photoshop...

Look through http://www.softpedia.com, you may find what you need. This site is updated constantly as well.

As for a Photoshop replacement, give GIMP a try. It's well suited for most image tasks, it's free and has a lot of plugins.
