LMAO...I still remember that day. Me and my dad had season tickets in 96, and we used to hate Vlade because he was just so damn soft. He would be wide open and do a layup, LMAO.

So the day I got back from Vegas in June of 96, I was readin the paper to see about the draft. I saw that we drafted some PG from Arkansas named Derek Fisher that I wasn't familiar with, and we traded Vlade for some kid straight from high school named Kobe Bryant. I was like damn...I don't know who dude is, but I'm just happy as hell we got rid of Vlade!!

And a few weeks later, we got Shaq...so I was the happiest fan ever.

I remember that draft, it was a great class and the backbone for the Laker's title run.

I remember being really excited we traded Vlade for Kobe, and though I had no idea who Fisher was, I thought if West drafted him then I will go with it. Under looked for Laker fans was Peeler and George Lynch being traded for nothing basically to the Grizzlies. This cleared cap space to sign Shaq. Even though the Lakers had a good year in 95-96, West gutted the bench and the line up after the draft was

PG - Van Exel, Fisher
SG - Jones, Kobe
SF - Ceballos
PF - Campbell
C  - Corie Blount

West bet the whole franchise to sign Shaq. A great class, and a great draft for the Lakers.

You can't be this dumb. If I'm 20 years old, how was I 6 in 1996?
