First of all you can't have a solar eclipse and still be able to see a full moon because if the moon is blocking our view of the sun and the sun is behind the moon, how can the sun give the front of the moon light? That was one of the most retarded things I have ever seen in a movie.

Secondly the Mayans didn't sacrifice villagers out of nowhere like they did in the movie. It was the Aztecs were the ones who crusifed all of downtown, not the Mayans.

Thirdly, there wasn't no smallpox before the Euros came. And the Euros also came at the wrong time. In the movie they came while the Mayans ruled, but in reality they came during Aztec conquest.

In fairness to the movie, Mel Gibson said over and over again that it's not supposed to be seen as a historical movie.  It's just a "fantasy" story set in a certain time period.  Just how Boogie Nights is set in the 70s.
