SOme interesting shit I just saw (SNL Dr.Dre)
« on: July 01, 2001, 06:35:38 AM »
Hi

Over here down under one of the cable channels show some of the old episodes of Saturday Night Live & I saw the TV guide & it said Dre was on it, so i tuned in

It was from late 1996, & he performed Been There Done That. They changed the insturmental around for it a couple times, they even used C.R.E.A.M. as part of the song & it sounded good.

Maybe one day when I get a capture card I can rip it for yall. I just thought it was interesting & it made me feel sad for Dre, coz at that time he was starting his shit with Aftermath & it was failing miserably.

the first performace of Still Dre that was on SNL (with snoop in that 'newspaper' suit') had a bit where it switched from 'pling pling' (tm)(c) Overseer 2000 up to some weird medieval 'pling pling' (tm)(c) Overseer 2000 thingy, and back again

I remember that.  SNL had a lot of good performances on it.  MY favorite was Snoop when he did La DI Da DI.  That was 94 I think.

You just reminded me...I remember I went to the swap meet and they had hella bootlegs, like all were CD-R's...and I saw "Tha last Meal" and they made a typo...Theyb typed "Snop Dogg The Last Meal", and the picture of him in jail made him look like a beaver...and they had the tracklisting all fucked up, and some of the songs like "Back Up Off Me" and "Loosen" Control" etc, were replaced with Leftovers instead...It had "Bacc Traccin" but i'm guessing it was in bad quality, since all there CD's come off Napter or the Radio. They probably made the CD before the real "Last Meal" came out...But I was cracking up when I saw that Snop Dogg thing...LOL

That Live Been There Done That Has Been Ripped, I Used To Have It.

When The Beat Drops, And The Girls Are Singin', That's SO DAMN TIGHT.  Then The Beat Stops (With A Big Splash) And Dre Goes "The Black Casanova" And It Drops Back In.  They Really Did It Right. That Song Didn't Get Enough Respect, It Was Pretty Good.

The "Still Dre" Was Tight Too, I Remember Seein' It.  Dre Always Goes All Out For SNL Performances. Didn't He Do "Forgot About Dre" Too? If I Remember, That Was Pretty Tight, Also.
