As previously reported Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced to prison to 23 months in prison, close to the maximum penalty, for helping to finance a dogfighting operation and destroying dogs that didn't fight aggressively enough.

Now we have learned that the NFL star may actually serve less than 1 year in prison!

Vick wants to enter the prison's Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP) - an intensive substance abuse treatment program which qualifies eligible graduates for a one year sentence reduction.

The NFL star entered the prison before his sentencing date so he may be out again by the beginning of the next year´s NFL season.
