Under the auspices of Mr. Farouk Hosni, Minister of culture, and the
attendance of Philippe Coste, the ambassador of France in Egypt and Daniel
Leroy, The ambassador of Belgium in Egypt, Good News for Film and Music has
taken the initiative to release the largest French-Belgium animation
production for 2007, The Princess of the Sun on March 13th at the Pyramids
Millennium panorama.
Good News Group has taken the initiative of proposing that the movie be
released worldwide from Egypt . . . the natural setting of the story featuring
Tutankhamen, Akhenaton and Nefertiti, at the pyramids area.
SYNOPSIS
Nothing could ever prepare the young Akhesa to reign over the people of
Egypt. With the help of a young stranger called Tut, the young princess sets
on a bold search for her exiled mother, Nefertiti.
Yet, she is blissfully unaware that she is embarking on a long journey that
will lead her through the corridors of power and to ultimately succeed her
father Akhenaten on the throne of Egypt.
Pursued by the enemies of the Pharaoh, the two teenagers confront a thousand
dangers, cheat death on a stifling trek across the desert and survive capture
by the fearsome Zannanza. On a journey littered with all kinds of tests and
ordeals, Akhesa and Tutankhamun rush headlong in total innocence towards a
unique destiny that will unite them for ever.
The story is written by “Christian Jacque” whose novels are an open
invitation to a world of mysteries, adventures and exciting discoveries about
Egypt. Despite him being the only French writer among the top 15 World
Best-sellers, there has never been a film based on his books. So, “Princess
of the Sun” is the first, bringing his remarkable intrigues to screen, and
bringing his amazing tales of Ancient Egypt to life… to animation-life...
The film, created by an award-winning team, is an action and comedy animated
film which is, in the meantime, respectful of the History.
The Worldwide Release of Princess of the Sun in Cairo at 13/03/2007 and in
France at 04/04/2007
International Title: Princess of the Sun
