Well i can't say about mel-man bcause i haven't heard any of his solo shit, no offense to him but i can't make a real judgement on him since i haven't heard him solo producin. but i can;'t say i've heard a whack beta from him, there was a few tracks on 2001 that i don't feel much but i respect the quality on all the tracks.
