C&C "Wild 'N Tha West"

Alright..... this shit has been out since Tuesday and I haven't heard ANYONE mention it yet.
I bought it. The only songs I had heard before I bought it were "High Come Down", "Pass It Around" and "Godzilla Like"... I didnt't really like "Godzilla Like" at first and I wasn't even sure about buying the cd.... afraid I'd regret buying it later. I was wayyy off.... now that I've heard this whole cd, I think it's tha shit! "Godzilla Like" is even one of my favorite songs now... that girl that sings on it sounds tight
I got the new source Magazine and they gave it 3 and 1/2 mics.... this is what they had to say.....
"Locking down West Coast radio, clubs and car stereos seems to take just one vital ingredient: a tight-ass hook courtesy of Nate Dogg. Just ask everybody from Dr Dre to East Coast rhyme animals Pharaohe Monch and Mos Def. If you don't believe them, hit up newcomers Chico & Coolwadda. These Cali cats are currently showing their digust for sobering situations on "High Come Down"-- a Nate-laced, silky smooth smash that puts a gangsta twist on Evelyn Champagne King's old-school classic "Love Come Down." With the single gettin things crackilatin', the stage has been set for C&C's debut, Wild N Da West.
Both Chico, a former Crenshaw High School and Morgan State University b-ball player, and Coolwadda, a battle-ready b-boy type, hold it down on the mic with decent flows that more often than not compensate for their lack of next-level lyricism. While Chico rhymes in an ill, LA-banger-style drawl slightly reminiscent of Tha Eastsidaz's Tray Dee, Cool spits a more universal brand of hip-hop verbalistics
On "Godzilla-Like" which jacks Minnie Riperton's bedroom banger "Inside My Love," Coolwadda raps, "Call me raging waters, I'm the captain of the boat/ I got to stay aboard if it dont float/ So to niggas that ain't dope/ Look rhymes I wrote done been put out/ they tried to close the door but know what? I stuck my foot out." They comically roast some birds Sporty Thievez-style on the run-a-train-themed "Pass It Around," while the wicked ol' one-time gets theirs on "Central Booking." The album's title track, featuring cameos from tha Likwit Crew's consistently improving Defari and the always ruff 'n' rugged rawness of Kurupt Young Gotti, is noteworthy, but it clearly exposes the duo's average word play.
Wild 'N Da West is far from being wack, thanks in part to veteran producer DJ Glove's killa Cali beats and C&C's synergy, but overall, it doesn't duplicate the same heavy-rotation punch of the Nate Dogg-assisted single. Their debut won't make your high come down, but you should probably invest in an extra 20-sack to make it all the way through" - James Tai
Alright.... I think that review was kinda wack! I'm feelin' almost every song on this album, especially....
2. Flashlight
4. Central Bookin'
5. High Come Down (You should all have heard this already)
6. Pass It Around
7. Godzilla Like
8. Wild N Tha West (Feat. Kurupt, Defari & Juice)
11. Beach Cruiser (Chico's Solo song)
12. Strange (Coolwadda's Solo song- This song is TIGHT... just that tha chorus kinda fucks it up for me)
17. Insomniac (Feat. King Tee)
Well that's enough... If you are really into that West Coast shit..... not just tha shit they play one MTV, then I suggest you buy this... I'm already anxious to hear what they got comin' out next....
