I'm fucken tired of collabo's.....(I'll explain)
« on: June 23, 2001, 01:45:55 AM »

Yo...This is my opinion
I know I'm gonna get a bunch of shit from all of the Hip-hop "newbies" (You know if it's u)

First off Fuck a callabo....if you buy an album based on the guest spot's or production credit's....then your not a fan...

It just realy baffles my mind when I see & hear people talking about Blahh blahh is going to be on my new shit....& blah blahh is going to produce my shit...."who cares"
Game will definetly reconize Game........

Remember: "Self distruction"
Remember: "Were all in the same gang"
Remember: "Burn Hollywood Burn"

just a few memorible hip hop posse cut's

I used to love callabo's between my favorite artists......I remember when Too $hort first did a callabo with a major artist (Rappin 4 tay don't count we was primarily only know in the Bay area at the time) Ice cube on "Ain't nothing but a word to me" (S.D.I.T.H. lp) that was landmark.....Too $hort had never done a word for word exchange with a major figure in hip-hop before that album....Remember when Deathrow would only appear on Deathrow shit...........When snoop bailed out........I beleieve he cheapened his image...by doing tracks with any muthaphukka' who paid him a check

That's the difference now.....it has no reason anymore...no heart...
The magic of a callabo between artist's is gone...
I can guarantee that we could post a million artist's Callabo's now since 94' down

That's why Snoop Dogg has lost that special something (In respect) that he used to have.....2pac also did many tracks with several artits...but not all of his tracks were done with no heart like most of snoop's no limit shit....(Most of Pac's songs were done with homies & as favor's)

"NOT JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE LABEL MATES....WHO"S ALBUM WOULDN"T SELL DICK unless featuring: SNOOP was attached to it...

The main reason I posted was because I was listening to the radio (something I never do)
and I heard a song with Nate dogg & Fabolous..??..And I couldn't fucken belive how cheap nate dogg has dropped his value since his Deathrow days.....Yo that's just my (DrUnk opinion) if this post made any sense ......hit it up'

Yeah, and you don't stop, cause it's 1-8-7 on an undercover cop!
Dr. Dre feat. Snoop - Deep Cover

I'm banging to the tip top, can't stop, fools stop dropping gang bang hit rocks, to the last drip drop, to the tick tock, to the blocks niggaz grip glocks!
Tray Deee - Crip Hop

Now my rhymes, are as potent as pipebombs, It takes time to concoct rhymes like mines
Like land mines, all set to explode
Kurupt - Dogg Pound Gangstaz

i agree with you on snoop, he is on too too much shit right now, personally i think its gettin boring.

but collabs on the whole are a good thing imo, everyone can network and get on each others projects, gain some more exposure etc, its all business.

I Personally Think Snoop's "Doin' Too Much" To Paraphrase Him

I Think Albums Would Be a WHOLE Lot Better If They Either Just Had A Couple Collabos, Or It Was The Same Fools Collaborating, Making It More Like A Group...

For Instance, The Chronic Had Dre, Snoop, Nate, RBX, Kurupt, Daz, And Lady Of Rage...

But It Was Cool, Because They Showed Up ON A Bunch Of Songs...

The Last Meal Didn't Bother Me Too Much, Because It Was Like A DPG Album...

But You're Right, All Those No Limit Albums Snoop Did Were Ridiculous.. I Guess It Was All For The Money, About The Time He Did 'Em He Was Hella Broke..

I Would Even Say There Were Too Many Collabos On Dre's "2001", But I Guess His Albums Are Kinda Collabos Anyways..

Peace

You guys are dissing Snoop and all this (I agree with you BTW) but look at Kurupt.
He came out with an absolute heater with Tha Streetz but:
Roscoe, Daz, X, Snoop, Tray Deee, Soopafly, Jayo, Butch, T-Mo, Nate, Warren, Big Pimpin, Dre, Hittman, Crooked I, Baby S and Krs One were all on the album. He hardly ever does solo tracks and there is no sign of that changing looking at the tracklisting for Space Boogie.
But he's dizzope and everybody loves him on here so collabs can't be all bad.

Eminem is doing the right thing...You barely hear him on callabos...(Except: "Don't Approach me", and "What the Beats Say")

Yeah but bear in mind he doesn't need to do collabs, a lot of rappers survive through constant collaborations

I feel ya man. I don't know how many collabos snoop has done in the past 2-3 years. It's getting rediculous. It's cool that he is getting exposure though. He is one of the only cats who can represent the westcoast that is mainstream.
