Give me a laid back beat like Xxplosive ANY day over most of whats put out today. You can keep searchin for that new sound, imma be over here in my house shoes, khakis and locs, with the homies chillin. If you say that's in the past, then call me old fashioned damnit.

I think G-Funk had its heyday. Not to say a artist cannot use that sound and still not be successful. Like someone said earlier XL Middleton is a good example of a dope artist that adds his own unique twist on G-Funk.

Fact is, it had it's day. For the early G-Funk sound, that is waaaay outdated....you can only sample Roger n George so many times. For the 2001 sound, it still appeals to some of us, but music has to evolve in some way..and some of us will love it, some of us will hate it.

Look at the other regions and states...Florida came out with Luke's sound, and now their biggest hits are tracks like "Low" from Flo-Rida. Thing is, this beat doesn't sound much like Luke, but it is the same tempo, and has the same vibe. For us, we could make songs that have the same vibe and tempo, but for them to have the same exact sound as G-Funk would be archaic.

LMAO. Did someone bring up Crunk? Haha. Crunk isn't even big anymore.

People really need to get over G-Funk. The South updated their booty music sound and look at them now. The East updated their boom bap break beat music and look at them now. The West never updated their sound (without push back from their fans) and look at where they are...

Realize that every thing progresses. The West Coast wasn't born on G-Funk. It merely blew up on G-Funk. So, if it was able to update once, let it update again. Damn... Some people just hate letting go.

Wow... I was just thinking about this. I used to love g-funk music, like, more than a decade ago. Today it just sounds so old fashioned. I heard DJ Pooh's 'Bad News Travels Fast' for the first time this week and it sounds so fucking bad. Of all hip-hop genres, g-funk is possibly one of the most dated-sounding now.

there is some element of some Gfunk on "Dogg Chit" if you listen to tracks like "Where U From" with Bad Azz one of the doper tracks on that record you will recognize it but a whole album of G-funk I don't think you will see that again

For "Dogg Chit" I saw that, this album is a little G-Funky, that's why I like it.

The west is not like what he was because all the good artist are goin' to disapear, they are to old. G-Funk is G-Funk, but Crunk is not kind of music! Cryin' like a fool, that is just for the club but for the people who want to listen some good music with good lyrics it's not a big thing.

But listen what you want to listen. Just know that the Latinos are still in tha' G-Funk in the West, like Mr Criminal for exemple.

If they doesn't do G-Funk anyway so where are the good beats like Xxplosive on Chronic 2001 these days, we got only bullshit with people cryin' on it. The song on the soundtrack of Carlito's Way "shake your booty" are better than all these fuckin' Crunk songs to let a girl shake her booty.

If the dolorean exist, let me go with Doc & Mc Fly in the past lool

The "old artists" are dissappearing. The GOOD artists are still around. Take a listen to Omar Cruz, Ya Boy, Cylde Carson, Big Rich, Game, Bishop Lamont... to name a few. The good artists aren't gone. The good artists just aren't getting the support from fans like yourself.

Your english is pretty bad, but we've already had the discussion about G-Funk vs. Crunk. Lets not have it again. But to ever say something like "Cryin like a fool, that is just for the club but for the people who want to listen some good music with good lyrics it's not a big thing." Is the SAME, S-A-M-E exact thing people were saying about G-Funk when East Coast cats were hating. "Aw man it's just music to ride to. Smoke to. It's that's gangsta shit. They don't care about lyrics. That doesn't matter!!!" Fuck outta here...

LMAO @ Latinos are still in "tha' (who the fuck uses Tha anymore?) G-Funk in the West." Last I checked, Mr. Criminal, Capone-E, etc. are not all the Latinos on the West Coast. Sick Jacken don't sound like that. Cynic don't sound like that. Omar Cruz don't sound like that. Javie Lopez don't make beats that way. Rome don't. I can go on.

Why the hell do you keep bringing up Crunk? There's not one major Crunk song out right now that I can think of. I haven't heard a Crunk song be a hit in a VERY long time. Crunk is taking a new shape already...

Now in France "soulja boy" is blowing lol Soulja Boy is not doin' Crunk? this man is a Bullshit.

lool ok that's the SAME for G-Funk and Crunk but 2Pac was doin' G-Funk and did some song with theme about society etc... (and probably many rappers did the same thang)

But now the only thing I can say is where is the G-Rap. I don't like these Crunk Beat they make me crazy.

Soljah boy does not make Crunk music. get ur facts right

and the main reason some artist are stuck in the same "g-funk" type of vibe is because of The Fans that are stucking them, asking them to stay true to their sound and stuff.

Crank Dat Soulja Boy is a dance. Cranking back is like pulling. It's not meant as a slang for Crunk.

This man is a bullshit.
