Krayzie Bone Rides Group Success Into New Solo album
« on: February 25, 2008, 06:56:31 AM »
2007 saw the reintroduction of Bone Thugs N' Harmony with their gold-selling Strength & Loyalty, released through Interscope Records. The work was parlayed into a November release T.H.U.G.S. by former imprint Ruthless Records, also cracking Top 100 on the charts.
Just as with the late '90s mainstream success of the group, this group revitalization has been responded by group solo efforts. Unofficial group leader Krayzie Bone, who achieved platinum and gold achievements in 1999's Thug Mentality and 2001's Thug On Da Line respectively, is again following group advancements with his own efforts.
Krayzie's Thugline Records will release Smoke On This on April 1. The effort, released independently, is an extension from a 2007 mixtape from the Cleveland rapper. The first single is said to be "In The Chevelet [sic]"

Um.... releasing an album and having it barely crack the top 100 in the release week, isn't 'success'.  I *might* be able to do that myself.  LOL

Seriously.  Think about that.  A few thousand cd's sold in 1 week gets you into the top 100.  If I was a band, toured around, bought plenty myself, etc. had all my friends buy it, promoted it a bit, about anybody could probably crack the top 100 in 1 week.

Bone have fallen off, but that's cool because everybody does.  Krazie's had more success solo lately than Bone as a group.

Man, you're trippin.

Bone's last cd, Strength & Loyalty went Gold (when's most rappers can't even reach that) and they won a AMA award, how is that not successful.

Anyways, this is just a retail version of his mixtape, The Fixtape : Smoke On This" with some new songs. This isn't his new album. His new album is titled, "Chasin' The Devil" and doesn't have a release date. Anyways, the first single is titled "Chevrolet", not "In The Chevelet".

I've lost faith in Bone. Put out another solo joint like TH1999 and maybe I'll reconsider.
