I got my DPG CD today and...

Well I waited the extra week to get the official copy, got it thru this mornin. I played it thru 3 times on my headphones at work and now im home bangin it on the big speakers and all i can say is...
WHOA! This is some fuckin classic shit in my eyes. Daz and Rupt together have never disappointed me and they came thru yet again. I'm feelin the same way I felt when i first played Dogg Food back in 95, and I know some of y'all gon talk shit for this comment but I got that same feelin as when i played Dre 2001, shit is just perfect to me. Im hoping it will stand the test of time like those other albums, im sure it will.
Sequencing of the tracks is perfect, i can play it thru the whole way and enjoy every cut (how many albums can u say that about these days?) At first i thought there was too many pussy songs next to each other but when I had heard the whole thing and get how the album flowed it made sense to put them all together.
Beats (u know thats my thing) are UNFADEABLE to me, woooo at last someone came with some bomb futuristic shit, only other people that came with some millenium ish already and did it well are Dre and Hutch, this is some next shit OOO-EEE! Daz and Mike Dean is a dope combination, its funky and hard as fuck at the same time.
Rhymes are on hit, Kurupt is untouchable but Daz holds his own on every song too. Not too many guest spots, thats a good thing. Maybe coulda used Tray Deee on one song but Snoop and Nate arent missed at all. Daz and Kurupt proved to me at least that all they need is each other to make classic shit (and Mike Dean lol).
Favorite tracks are Coastin, Best Run (doesnt Beans sound DOPE on this beat?), Treat Her Like a Lady, Shit Happenz, Theres Someway Out (WOW, incredible) and DPG. Damn i cant stop yappin about this album, its fuckin BOMB. Thanks Daz and Kurupt for droppin a real heater.
Sorry if i sound like a crack head on speed but music is my drug and i just got an overdose, dddaaaaaayyyuuummm this is dope!

The production on this album is nearly flawless. Mike Dean and Daz did a great job.

I thought it was great SNOOP wasnt on it, he wouldve ruined the experience, unless he rapped like he did back in 1993
Nate, i wouldnt have minded, but i dont think he would've fit in with the songs for some reason, the beats arent his style
Ohh welll, still the bomb album, cant wait to geta real copy when it comes here (8 months probably)

Also Kast and ONP did that futuristic shit, Trauma don't be hating, Trauma and mellowman was sayin that the topics is played out and all which is true BUT I think There's Someway Out is different for the pound and we about to get fucc up is a fresh look at a drug song in my opinion,You can imagine Kurupt all bloodshot, skinny, with loads of drugs in his hand walking around a smoky room looking for more get-high while ripping that shit up.dark ass beat and just above average for a drug track..topic wise it's pretty much the same ol shit but kurupt and daz do it best with few exceptions..i have a post coming up called "Dogg Pound Shit" i'll look forward to seeing engies in there...peace-Tanjint

i actually think the album would sound better with Snoop and Nate on it, also it wouldn't hurt to have tray deee on there.....to me i thought the album was ok, the beats were really good, but daz ruined it a lil, he didn't rap that well in my opinion and it was kinda whack to put 5 straight sex and pussy songs on there

Yeah this album is tha fuckin shit. I just wish it had more promotion so it coulda slaughtered some of the East cats in sales.
Oh well, we got the album and that's all that matters. The production on some songs just blows my mind, they put a shit load of work into this.
And, Trauma, what's so funny?
