I was just thinkin about it...last year, there were no sort of tributes, magazine features, interviews, or anything for the 15 year anniversary of Chronic droppin. I am wondering, will there be anything for Doggystyle in any way?

Now that you mention this, I thought some major publication (can't think of which one at the second), DID do a tribute to the 15 year Anniversary of "The Chronic"? Damn, now you got me in Google mode homie lol.

I suggested the same thing in an older post a month or so ago.  Here it is: http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=168065.msg1732354

Here's an even better idea, Snoop. This summer, do a one-night only concert special at Staples Center or Western Forum to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Doggystyle like Jay did for the 10th Anniversary of Reasonable Doubt.  Dress the stage up with the theme of the album cover and then perform every song off the album.  Also, while you're at it, get in touch with VH1 and have them shoot a documentary interviewing the key players involved in the recording process of Doggystyle.  VH1 did an hour-long documentary of The Making Of Reasonable Doubt, so why not have The Making Of Doggystyle?

This would really be reaching, but fuck it.  Get in touch with Suge, Crooked I, them vatos you had beef with over the BCT album and anyone else you haven't squashed it with and invite them to be a part of the concert special and whatnot?  Especially Suge, since he's one of the key players of the album.  Show the hip hop world that West Coast solidarity is important and possible.  Set an example, nigga.  Grown men doing grown men things.  The West Coast been gone for too long.  It's time to bring both OG's and New West movements together, so an event like this could definitely be the perfect springboard for a positive change in West Coast hip hop.

Maybe instead of doing the concert in the summer, you could do the concert on the date that Doggystyle was released?  So that'd be Nov. 23rd?  That should give you plenty of time to plan an event of this proportion.

I don't see 15 as a particularly special number. 20 years would seem a bit more realistic. Plus who would release it?

Probably "The Source" or XXL or one of those publications. They usually do stuff like that when something huge happens in the hip-hop world (i.e - the death of Tupac). I consider the release of "The Chronic" to be something groundbreaking in hip-hop and it deserves the recognition.

I would love to see one of those breakdowns for Chronic or Doggystyle like they did in XXL where they interview all the performers/producers and break down each song, track by track. They did it for All Eyez On Me, Makaveli, Life After Death, and Capital Punishment from the ones I remember.

no it wouldn't.  Why mess with a masterpiece.  Look how the nu-mixx classics, or the other pac projects turn out.  That would be a horrible day to do another version of the doggystyle album.  Only way it might turn out good is if it was remade with snoops live band...snoopadelic, or whatever he calls it.
