So far the music this year for the West has turned out to be real dope!

Especially with all these dope singles dropping (from Jay Rock, Butch Cassidy, Hot Dollar, Glasses Malone, Bishop Lamont, etc.). Then Snoop's Ego Trippin didn't disappoint at all (honestly I thought it was gonna be R&G Pt. 2 but it's in its own entire category) & these new mixtapes coming out are dope as hell (the Rap or Die series, Shade Sheist's worldtape, St. Valentine's Day Bossacre, Meech Wells New West World Order 2).

So far I haven't been disappointed with anything compared to last year where it was kinda shaky at the beginning. IMO, when Blue Carpet Treatment & Doctor's Advocate dropped in late 2006, it seemed like it would be hard to top those because they were highly anticipated. When 2007 started, I didn't see much happening (or maybe it was just me) & it wasn't until N*gger Noize dropped & when Glasses & Jay Rock & K-Dot began dropping their songs that I realized I was trippin, LOL. & towards the end of the year with Hot Dollar, DPG, & everyone else doing the same, I started to get more hope.

Just wanted to give my 2 cents on this, especially because I feel that this year it is the beginning of the West at least getting its' foot in the door to getting exposure again (like Game did with "The Documentary").

And i agree with the OP, its gettin crazy this year man, all that shit u listed was all hot, now i cant wait for Malone, Jay's, Bishops, Dre's, Games, Crooked's, Cubes and a bunch of albums to drop, if all those drop this year, it could be the best year for the west coast in a LONG ass time!!!

Yeah, I have the same feeling. Each year you hear about artists who are 'gonna release something!" but this time around it seems like it could actually happen. The singles to build up the buzz have already dropped, label deals have already been signed, etc... Not that those things guarantee an album release, but it's surely starting to look good for the West Coast.

Butch Cassidy, Jay Rock, Omar Cruz, Glasses Malone, Crooked I, Clyde Carson, etc... 2008 might turn out to be a good year
