LOL@ the candidates answers on how they are going to stimulate the economy...
TraceOneInfinite:
I got some ridiculous Economic Stimulus Payment Notice thing in the mail. Says something like many Americans are going to get $600 dollars in June as part of Bush's Economic stimulus package. LOL... I will take the money, but I seriously doubt, them giving me 600 dollars is really going to help the economy. What am I going to do, invest 600 dollars into creating new jobs and industry? LOL.
What's even funnier is when they ask Obama and Hillary how they are going to stimulate the economy. They both offer this fairytale scenario of how they are going to fix the economy, provide jobs, and solve the energy crisis, ALL AT THE SAME TIME! LMAO! Obama said something like he was going to stimulate the economy by creating jobs that would research alternative sources of energy and also produce and distribute the energy, etc... and on and on...
This is all a joke. Libertarians know and understand that there is no silver bullet. The government can not fix the economy. This is a myth. Government interference only makes the economy worse.
Ron Paul was the only reality candidate. He was the only honest candidate. Other candidates like Obama, Hillary, and McCain want to lie to the American people and pretend they can fix the economy. The truth is the economy can not always be strong. It will go up and down and eventually the free market will work itself out. It has to do this to maintain balance.
...as a side note...btw... Still.. Obama has swagger so I'm not going to hold this one against him too much. 8)
Real American:
Wow a post from you that I actually agree with.

Obama is taking a page out of FDR's playbook which FDR used the need to upgrade the US highway system, and provide enviromental help in the US to put people to work during the depression. Some say that World War II pulled us out of the Depression, but by 1939 the US was already well on it's way out and these programs helped out greatly.

That's a lie. FDR's programs only made the economy worse. I will find proof, give me some time.

It'll take a lot of time. Short term the Depression got worst, but long term the US was hyper drived to the 50's and 60's and the greatest expanded economy in US history. This was popped in the 70's as LBJ expanded on FDR's program but also put us in war with Vietnam and drained our economy. Nixon was put in a bind as he did things that you might not agree with, like not allowing Christmas lights one year and a putting rations on things. The economy did not recover from KBJ until Reagan put in supply-side economics that that also resulted in a downturn in the economy short term but shot us into the 90's and the great Bill Clinton era that saw our first balanced budget. Then George W. Bush has fucked it all up.
