ok... is it DPG Records or Dillenger Records?
« on: May 09, 2001, 04:49:26 PM »
Dayummm....i have a hard enough time knowing if its Doggystyle Records, or Dogghouse Records......

now with the new DPG album.....it says DPG Records/ Dillenger Records......

Who is runnin what label?   anybody know???............
and it also shows that the address on back is in Florida.....guess the man moved up out of Cali, and headed to Trick Daddy territory.......

and another thing...it only shows on 1 song where Kurupt got Publihing Credit......whats up with that?????

Yo.......Mike Dean is all over this CD....if you guys dont know who Mike Dean is...then you are not much of a Scarface or Ghetto Boys Fan....he is with Rap-A-Lot, and J Prince....He produced or co-produced half the songs on the D.P.G. Album........

You Can Hear Mike Dean's Influence On The Tracks, He Produced The Intro By Himself, So You Can Get An Idea Of His Style.

Record Publishing Is All Paperwork.  You CAn Make Company Names For Free, And It's Sometimes To An Artists' Advantage To Seperate The Companies, To Protect Funds (Limited Liability Corporations Are An Example)

Isn't Most Of The Publishing DPG Publishing, Or Something?  If Daz Gave Kurupt Publishing Credit, He'd Have To Pay Kurupt's Record Label, Antra... Kurupt RUNS Antra, But He Still Pays Distribution, Etc. Outta All That, Just Like Aftermath Still Pays Interscope.

By Not Crediting Kurupt, He Doesn't Pay The Record Company, He pays His Own DPG Record Company.  Then He Probably Gave Kurupt A Big Chunk Of That.  He Creditited Him On 1 Song, To Make Antra Happy, Probably.  He Could Say That Kurupt Didn't Write The Rest, Or Some B.S. If It Came To Court, And That Way, Kurupt And Daz Keep Their Own Change, Instead Of A Big Portion Of Kurupt's Money Going To Antra.

Dillinger Records Is Because Daz Produced It, And Was In Charge Of It Coming Out, Distribution, Etc.  DPG Records Is Because It's A DPG Album,.... Bad Azz's Album Is Out On Priority/Doggystyle, Because Priority Owns His Contract, But Doggystyle Is Doing His Promotion And Recording.

Kokane Is Out On Doggystyle/Aftermath, Because Aftermath Is Handling The Distribution, But Doggystyle Is Where He's Signed, And Promoted.

The Movie "The Wash" Soundtrack Dre And Snoop Are Doing Is Also Being Released On Aftermath/Doggystyle, So They Both Get Cuts, And The Best Of Both Companies (Doggystyle Makes More Money Per Album, Aftermath Has Better Distribution And Promotion)....

That's Why The CD's Released Jointly On Dpg/Dillinger... All Paperwork.  If It Was Just Released On DPG Records, Kurupt And Daz Would Prob. Split It, Even Though Daz Did More Work (Financial Responsiblity, Production Work... Plus He Put Together Everything, Notice His Cousin Did The Artwork)... If They Release It On Dillinger/DPG, Daz Can Get A More Appropriate Proportion To Himself, For His Extra Work.

PEACE!

I went to the Wherehouse to pic up this CD, and they didnt have it out....they said they still had it in boxes....im like..well can u get it out...????..the lady gave me a freakin attitude......i was pissed......so i say..u would rather have me drive to your competitor....to purchase this CD, then..you want me to get your name...store location...and send a complaint to your headquaters........she started to turn RED...it was funny.....I mad her azzz search for the CD......then check it in..then sell it to me.....haha....freakin B*tch....sorry..had to say it...

only the albums sold in major stores get tracked, so if they are selling a lot of them out of mom and pop spots those numbers wont show up.

also, 1 more thing to add to Trauma's post, kurupt actually co-owns antra with a silent partner so he'd lose even more money probably if daz put antra pub. on there. i think so at least, publishing is confusing.
