america wasn't considered a world until we beat britain the second time (i think it was the war of 1812) so around 1816 or whenever that war ended we were considered a world power. then when imperialism started we got more resources and therfor more money so not only did we become strong military wise but economy wise then industrialism boosted that ALOT then WW1 hit and it boosted us even more economicallly and with all the new weapons being invented that made us right up there with anyone. then the depression hit and we were messed up real bad economicallly then WW2 came and that got us out of our financial rut and wit the development of nukes were considered beyond and shadow of a doubt the most powerful nation...until russia got the same shit then we were competingwith them for a while then the USSR crumbled and here we are today ;)

Hitler came to power through a democratic goverment - The Wiemar Republic if i remember correctly, he got the powers that the President has and then turned Germany into facist (i use this word here because i cant remember the right word for it - but nazi germany was something a little different from facist)
second America did help World War I end (Germany and the allies were in a trench warfare stale mater until US came) and there was more then just international pressure that got US involved (eg. the sinking of the Lustiana by Germany)

Is not that Hitler had the balls to do what he did but he was a crazy man. And someone needed to step up for Germany, they were gettin punked around with that Treaty . Germany coudlnt do shit after WW1 They lost everything. So someone needed to step up and Hitler was that. He became a leader to Germany.
