D'Angelo "Voodoo" appreciation thread
« on: March 29, 2008, 09:28:13 AM »

This is one of those rare albums where everything is top notch from top to bottom: every instrument and every vocal is perfect. I remember back in the days I had this album for a month straight in my disc man and even now I can still listen to it without skipping one single track. What an amazing album is this...

I'll second that.
Like you've already pointed out: everything about that album sounds great. The vocal arrangements, the lyrics, the instruments, the rhythm, the song-sequencing, the overall vibe of the album.
I always put it on when I'm feeling a bit hazy/tired of going out the night before. It has that dreamy kind of vibe...

I wonder if he'll ever put out another album. I'm curious to know what he would come up with nowadays.
