mass effect wasn't optimise well, i got nicer games with sharper textures that dont suffer that bug. I could care less though, ME is dope as hell, one of the most addictive game i played in years

You are lucky then.
There are many people, however, who experience huge problems when playing ME. It's constantly streaming data from the disc at a very high speed and the smallest, even hardly visible scratches on the disc's surface result in error messages. It's even worse when the DVD drive in your console is not in perfect condition like in my case. There is a whole thread devoted to this on Bioware's boards.
The fact that nobody besides Epic can successfully optimize the Unreal Engine 3 doesn't help. No surprise they are being sued in court by developers who licensed UE3.

I hope devs say "fuck you" to Microsoft and start making games requiring the hdd.

I think they only used it in R6: Vegas but you're right - it worked ok. Now I recall Bioshock also used UE3 and it worked perfectly. MOH: Airborne was ok too. Blacksite: Area 51 is utter crap and I haven't seen Lost Odyssey yet, but yeah, you're right - it can be done.
