he might lose some points from his gangsta rap fans
I could care less what Snoop does, he can be on Sesame Street. Look at Cube, he does kids movies. It's about making money. Simple as that. These guys aren't gangsta day to day. They get up, pack their kids lunches, watch morning news, and go about their day like any other rich person. The difference comes in their music, and what they choose to represent. Cube probably used to be a gangsta, Snoop may have been a pimp. All the OG's probably used to be the people they rap about. And if they continue to rap about who they used to be, or give some insight into that world, then their still real in my books. Snoop's last album wasn't real though, it was pretty crappy, and not very enjoyable. Cube, WC, Nas, whoever, don't glorify violence, they tell it how it is. They don't claim to be people they aren't, they claim to be people they used to be. If someone used to be a criminal, goes to jail, gets out, and changes his life, how isn't that real? It's the realest you can get. They have the right to speak about crime, or violence. The problem I have is with all these new fake rappers *cough* Lil Wayne, who grew up middle class, and rap about shit they never experienced. Snoop can rap about being a pimp all day, as long as he lived that life at one point. Doesn't matter if it's way in his past, doesn't matter if he still does it now. As long as their music doesn't change (like Cube) their still real in my books.
