Kobe is the first MVP to lead his team to the finals since Duncan in 2003!

2007: Dirk Nowitzki - Lost in 1st Round
2006: Steve Nash - Lost in Semis
2005: Steve Nash - Lost in Conference Finals
2004: Kevin Garnett - Lost in Conference Finals
2003: Tim Duncan - Won NBA Championship



This year will be the first time in 10 years that either Shaq or Duncan won't be in the NBA Finals...

2007: Duncan - Spurs vs. Cavs
2006: Shaq - Heat vs. Mavs
2005: Duncan - Spurs vs. Pistons
2004: Shaq - Lakers vs. Pistons
2003: Duncan - Spurs vs. Nets
2002: Shaq - Lakers vs. Nets
2001: Shaq - Lakers vs. 76ers
2000: Shaq - Lakers vs. Pacers
1999: Duncan - Spurs vs. Knicks

This is also the first NBA Finals to have the Eastern conference team hold home court since 1997 (Chicago)
