Bone Thugs & Three 6 Mafia
That_Cracka_J:
I know everybody's heard that Three 6 claims that Bone bit their style after seeing one of their concerts in Memphis. I always just blew this off, but I realized something kinda interesting yesterday....
I was listening to Bone's first album (Faces of Death), which came out in originally in like '92 or '93, and I came to the song "Hell sent". The whole song is about fighting the devil and satan and hell in general. That's sort of a coincidence, like they were going up against Three 6 Mafia. But then at the beginning of the song they say that they come together to form an organization much stronger than the "MAFIA"...I don't know, maybe it's just a coincidence, but damn, it does make me think...
Anyway, I don't care who came up with the style, cause Bone does it better.
S.G.V.:
really i never found 3-6 and bones styles similar at all really...at times it was but not too similar...me personally i think 3-6 has better music than Bone...sure Bone has many more hits...but 3-6 has one of the most contrevisial songs ever.....Tear Da Club Up...nobody since Body Counts Cop Killer had made a song that was banned....sure UGK had a banned album but it wasnt a major album....Bone has always been West Coast influenced to me....3-6 took their influence from The Showboys, 2 Live Crew and The Geto Boyz....
Sikoticâ„¢:
I never paid attention to that line. They don't really sound alike if you ask me, but I prefer Bone's shit.
ZILLA THA GOODFELLA:
Nah...They dun sound alike at all...
And ummm, they aint got no beef nomore...shit waz squashed ages ago cuz 3-6 realized dissing them wont get em more fans...they collaborating and shit now.
That_Cracka_J:
That wasn't really the point of my topic about them sounding alike...I don't think they sound that much alike either. I just found that line interesting in "Hell sent". Oh yeah, I know that they don't have beef anymore. That's been over since like 1998-1999.
