he's not going to make the spurs any better. i think.....yes they'll get some more scoring from him but he'll be a defensive liability IMO The way you beat a defensive minded team like the spurs is attack their weak zones.....and having maggette in the line up is their weak spot.

There is a difference between subsiding, and sacrificing your numbers for the better of the team. The Spurs (as any team would) are a better team when there is a balanced attack from their big three. Not all superstars are concerned with their own stats more then the team. The team is better when Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli are all in the mid 20's...rather then Duncan scoring 40 and Parker and Ginobli with 15 each. They havent had the firepower on the perimeter this year and that obviously hurt them. But letting Duncan draw double teams in order to set up wide open shooters...sounds like a good gameplan. A better one then handing your superstar the ball and expecting him to just make a play. Without a doubt Duncan could average 30/game almost every season. And without a doubt, the team would suffer. Their team isnt one star, and a bunch of role players. Its 3 all stars...and role players.
